This Sunday we light the rose-colored candle of Joy, Gaudete Sunday, reminding us that joy doesn’t wait for perfect circumstances. Joy rises in the middle of the story, even while shadows linger. Drawing from Isaiah’s promise of deserts blooming, Mary’s song of trust before the miracle, Jesus’ gift of His own joy, and Paul’s blessing of Spirit-filled hope, we’ll explore how joy takes root long before everything makes sense. Advent teaches us that joy is not denial, it is defiance. It is God’s faithful presence breaking through the wilderness, lifting the lowly, and filling us with hope that overflows. Join us as we celebrate the joy that rises in the waiting and prepares our hearts for Christ’s coming.
